Financial Worry — GB

Financial Worry

I always prided myself for having good financial discipline however, I must admit that my understanding of financial principles led me to become somewhat obsessive with the details. I was always conscious of my spending habits, rate of return and cost of borrowing. As a result, my budget calculator was like a bible, one I referred to more than my actual Bible.

Most of the times my budget was out off balance because life kept happening pushing me off course with unexpected bills.

Despite the unexpected bills, my account balance was not adding up because I should have a negative balance since my expenses were always more than my household Income.

The more I reflected on the teachings I received through The Power of God Ministry (TPOGM), I slowly ditched the budget calculator and made a conscious decision to have a closer relationship with God; lean on God for understanding; and to rely on God to make a way for me.

I then experienced a profound realization that during the times I was preoccupied with financial concerns, God was, in fact, making a way for me. While reflecting on another lesson from the POGM Bible studies, where we discussed what It meant to truly trust in God. I came to I realized I worry way too much. I took away from that session that if I truly trusted God there would be no reason to worry. Consequently, I decided to release my financial worries in my life and began trusting and to leaning on God and His promises.

Deuteronomy 31:8

The Lord himself goes before you and will be with you; he

will never leave you nor forsake you. Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged.”

Putting God To The Test

As I continued to pursue a closer walk with Christ, curiosity grew around the significance of tithing. During my devotional time, I was led to the book of Malachi, chapter 3, where the following verses stood out to me:

Malachi 3:8-10

”Will a mere mortal rob God? Yet you rob me. But you ask, ‘How are we robbing you?’ In tithes and offerings.”

“Bring the whole tithe into the storehouse, that there may be food in my house. Test me in this,” says the Lord Almighty, “and see if I will not throw open the floodgates of heaven and pour out so much blessing that there will not be room enough to store it.”

In 2023 I decided to test God just like verse 10 said. At this point I knew I could not lean on my own understanding, but on God’s promise because my expenses were already higher than my household Income.

On January 29, 2023, I began to contribute the first tenth of my salary in tithes. By February 2024, upon receiving my tithing receipt, I was amazed to find that despite having one-tenth less of my salary to work with, my expenses were all covered. Additionally, in February 2023, I took my son on a ten days vacation to Florida for our first experience at Disney and Legoland, all without any savings allocated for this trip. Through my obedience, God made a way.

Trusting God

Like many others, I was significantly impacted by the series of interest rate hikes implemented by the Bank of Canada beginning in the summer of 2022. My mortgage was scheduled for renewal on March 21st, a time when It was not normal to see such drastic increases in such a short period of time.

Upon renewing my mortgage, I experienced an interest rate increase of 83.5% higher resulting in an Increased payment close to $600 more per month.

After signing my renewal at the new higher Interest rate my monthly payment only Increase by approximately $150 more per month after some adjustment to my amortization.

Fast forward to 2024 I was due for another mortgage renewal. At this time worry tried to raise its ugly head again, my mortgage rate and payment increase in 2023. Everything else also increased for everyone, with minimal salary increase when compared to the percent of all other increases.

During the week of my renewal the TPOGM held a prayer & fasting, which I participated in. On March 14th, I had an appointment booked with my Financial Advisor (FA) for my mortgage renewal. This time, the outlooked appeared more favourable than 2023, because I was expecting a 0.8% decrease based on the posted rate and my employee discount, which Is usually the lowest rate available.

During my appointment, my FA informed me that my interest rate would be reduced by 1% compared to my current rate. To ensure there was no mistake that could put her in a difficult position, I checked the website where the rates were posted, which indicated only a 0.8% decrease. I requested her to verify this information. She explained that my profile showed the additional discount, resulting in a monthly reduction of approximately $90 and a decrease of four years in the remaining term of my mortgage.

I was in amazement by the quick results, On March 10, 2024, one of the prayer points shared by Minister Ricardo was to pray and ask God for the restoration of years that have been lost or consumed. In 2023 I had to extend my amortization, but in 2024 I was able to reduced it. My personal experiences with proving God for myself have empowered me to confidently encourage others who are worried to

cast all your anxiety on him because he cares for you. 1 Peter 5:7

How sweet It Is to have a father who takes cares of my needs and that of my family.

Thank you, Jesus

Praise Be to God!

In October 2023, my supervisor, Gloria, introduced me to the POGM. At the time, I was experiencing severe discomfort. My body ached, my feet were swollen, I constantly felt fatigued, and I was sleeping far more than usual. I had even lost interest in maintaining my personal hygiene.

During my first online session, I was instructed to have olive oil, salt, and water ready. That evening, several people gathered in prayer, including five newcomers, myself among them.

After the items were consecrated, Pastor Ricardo called me by name and accurately identified my health issues—my swollen feet, back pain, and gas pains. After praying for me, he gave me specific instructions on how to use the consecrated items and which Scriptures to read. I faithfully followed his guidance.

Before long, the pain in my hips and back completely disappeared, and as of May 2024, it has not returned. The swelling in my feet noticeably decreased the very next day. During the deliverance, I experienced relief after vomiting.

As God continued to work in my life, my prayer life became stronger, I began sleeping better, and I developed a deeper desire to read the Bible regularly.

Pastor Ricardo also prayed for my family. My grandson, who previously had no interest in attending college, is now excited about pursuing his education. My granddaughter, Maya, received prayer to succeed in her studies, and she passed all of her subjects.

When my grandson, Isaiah, encountered legal difficulties, Pastor Ricardo stood in prayer for him. Through continual intercession, we have been witnessing God’s blessings as we await his trial, scheduled for June 17.

Today, my relationship with God grows stronger each day because of the POGM.

I pray that God will continue to bless Pastor Ricardo, the ministry, and all the faithful saints who serve alongside him.

Praise be to God!

Throughout my life, I have faced many obstacles that required immense strength and perseverance to overcome. It often felt as though everything was a struggle, but with God’s help, I continued to press forward.

In 2017, I arrived in Canada, and in 2018, I met my ex-husband at the same church in Brantford. We were married in February 2019. At first, he was kind, but over time he became controlling. The situation worsened when his mother moved in with us for the summer and began trying to dictate how I should manage my home and raise our children.

As tensions increased, I eventually asked my ex-husband when his mother would be leaving. He told me she wasn’t going anywhere. This led to a heated argument during which he threatened my life. The authorities were called and ordered them to leave the premises.

His mother then returned to Jamaica to practice witchcraft, and soon my life began to unravel. I lost my job, faced false accusations of assault, and endured many other hardships. My ex-husband even fabricated stories to immigration in an attempt to have me deported. The stress and anxiety became so overwhelming that I contemplated ending my own life. However, my love for my children gave me the strength to keep going.

During this difficult season, I met Robert, who introduced me to the POGM and Minister Ricardo. I eagerly wanted to join the ministry and asked Robert to remind his colleague, Jermaine, to send me the contact information.

After becoming a member of the POGM, my life began to change. Minister Ricardo assured me that God would resolve the problems I was facing, and God faithfully did just that. My legal case was dismissed, all charges against me were dropped, my immigration status was approved, and the false accusations against me were proven untrue.

Today, I can confidently say that God’s power is truly amazing.

The POGM has transformed my perspective, strengthening my faith in God and teaching me to trust His perfect timing. I encourage my fellow believers to continue praying and to remain steadfast in faith, even during seasons of despair and seemingly impossible circumstances. God always shows up at the right time and works in ways beyond our understanding.

The story of Job has become especially meaningful to me because it reminds me of unwavering faith in the midst of suffering. Even after losing everything, Job remained faithful and continued to worship God. My prayer today is that I will continue to grow in that same kind of faith and develop an even deeper relationship with God.

In Jesus’ name, Amen.

My entire existence serves as a testament to the journey from my past to my present. Growing up, I was a quiet child who rarely spoke or laughed until I was around 8 years old. My early years were marked by hardship, especially after I married my first wife in 2007 and was baptized a year later, we had a child together. In search of better job prospects to support our family, I moved to Canada, however, my marriage faced challenges when my wife cheated and became pregnant with another man. I lost the house I had built for her and our farm, among other things. She also resorted to witchcraft to try to win me back, promising that she would see me suffer.

Eventually, I remarried in Canada and lived with my new wife and her children for five years. When my paperwork was processed, I brought my two daughters to Canada, my wife she was not happy with the arrangement, and within two days of their arrival, issues started to surface. She expressed to me that she could no longer have my children living with her and that they needed to move out due to her discomfort. This situation persisted for three months, during which time my children would sometimes wander the streets and return home late, avoiding any potential conflicts with her. I was at a breaking point, feeling helpless and alone, with thoughts of suicide being the only option. I thought about driving to the train station, hoping it was passing so I could drive in front of it, but by the time I got there, it had already passed.

On my return journey, I made the choice to drive through a red light, but regrettably, there was no approaching traffic at that moment. Tears welled up in my eyes as I halted, reflecting on my actions, and questioning my decisions. It was at this point that God spoke to me that very day. I went to work and shared my struggles with my colleague Jermaine. He then shared his own experience with the POGM / Minister Ricardo, who had supported him during a similar time.

Upon meeting Minister Ricardo, my entire perspective and emotional well-being experienced a significant shift. He brought to light many of my personal struggles and the experiences that have shaped my life. I can now confidently affirm that I have undergone a profound transformation. I have embraced and placed even greater trust in God than ever before. The POGM fasting and prayers have protected me from numerous accidents during my daily commute to and from work.

The biblical account of Lazarus, who was resurrected by God after being dead for four days, holds a special place in my heart. Despite appearing delayed to us, he arrived precisely on time, showcasing God’s mysterious ways that are beyond our understanding. Let us continue to wait patiently and have unwavering faith in Him in all circumstances.

May God continue to bless this ministry. Amen!
